Weston
was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai’i and currently
resides in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has exhibited artwork
at Patricia Sweetow Gallery, Intersection for the Arts, and
the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery in San Francisco,
the de Saissett Museum in Santa Clara and the di Rosa Preserve
in Sonoma. He is represented by Patricia Sweetow Gallery in
San Francisco. Weston was the recipient of the inaugural Oliver
Ranch Studio Artist Residency, an upcoming Irvine Fellowship
at the Sally & Don Lucas Artist Residency Programs of
the Montalvo Arts Center and a 2009 Artadia grant.
Weston
received an MFA in Painting and Drawing and MA in Visual &
Critical Studies (Visual Criticism) from California College
of the Arts. His research interests include contemporary practices
by artists of color, Asian American Studies, piracy, settler
colonialism in Hawai’i, and speculative fictions.
Weston
has facilitated community and youth arts projects with organizations
including the Public Allies - Los Angeles, Little Tokyo Service
Center and the Asian Pacific American Legal Center's PAPAYA
youth program. He has also been an artist in community projects
with organizations including Strategic Actions for a Just
Economy.
